It is understood that when another Chinese student arrived at the San Francisco International Airport recently, he was taken to the "small dark room" by the US border law enforcement officers for interrogation. He was detained for more than 20 hours. Many law enforcement officers took turns to conduct 12 hours of interrogation, and finally cancelled his visa, prohibited him from entering and repatriated. What is China's comment on this?

Mao Ning said that for some time, the US side has frequently harassed, investigated and repatriated Chinese students for political purposes. Recent cases once again show that the US approach goes far beyond the scope of normal law enforcement, with a strong ideological bias, which seriously infringes the legitimate rights and interests of the parties, seriously interferes with the normal personnel exchanges between China and the US, and seriously violates the consensus of the head of the US dollar on strengthening and facilitating personnel exchanges between the two countries. China is strongly dissatisfied and firmly opposed, and has made solemn representations to the US side.

Mao Ning stressed that the US side has always touted the so-called "openness and freedom", saying that it "attaches importance to people to people and cultural exchanges between the US and China" and "welcomes Chinese students". In fact, it continues to generalize the concept of national security and adopts selective, discriminatory and political law enforcement against Chinese students. In essence, it is the cold war mentality of some people in the US that is responsible. China urges the United States to stop harassing Chinese students studying in the United States under the pretext of so-called "national security", stop poisoning the public opinion environment of bilateral relations, and stop obstructing friendly exchanges between the two peoples.
